Service fast. Food great value for money. No complaints.
Always a good visit here. Good choice of meals and it's buy 1 get 1 free. Nice atmosphere and staff.
Very poor. Ordered two meals, both the same, steak and ale pies with chips and garden peas. Pies were so hard from being overheated that the pastry was like concrete and couldn't be cut. Plates are now a lot smaller as are the child size portions. Prices have gone up though. Poor lighting. Couldn't see the menu. Staff were quick to serve and clear the table but were struggling to be hospitable. This is the second time our meals have been an absolute misery. We won't be coming back and we will warn family and friends and social media contacts not to bother wasting their time and hard earnt money either.
We booked a family group of 17 for a surprise lunch for my parents golden wedding anniversary and from start to finish the staff at Standing Stones couldnt do enough for us - from letting us in early to set up and giving us our own space, to giving my parents a lovely bottle of bubbly to help with the celebration, nothing was too much trouble. All meals arrived together (which doesnt always happen with a large group) all in all food was great and service was fantastic.
Just been for lunch here with my partner and our two year old.Firstly, I commend them for selling only sugar free soft drinks, however, due to this and the fact my partner is fussy with his drinks, this made him have an alcoholic drink (not their fault). Next, the food, I ordered a chicken and mushroom pie in white wine sauce off the specials board. Not what I expected. They gave it to me on a child's plate, the same size as my daughter's plate. My food looked incredibly squashed on this tiny plate. The pastry was very tough to cut through and once into the pie, it was extremely dry. Thank heavens for gravy is all I can say! Next, onto my daughter's meal, her carrots had clearly been reheated that many times that she couldn't chew it, they were not tasty at all, and normally she can eat them until the cows come home. Next, her mini waffles were deep fried! So, they don't do sugary drinks but they deep fry a child's potato waffles! The odd thing is, I've been here 3 times before and have always had a dodgy meal, but after having not been for 3 years, we decided to give it chance, was not worth it.
